HOW THREADING WORKS
Threading shapes the brow with a twisted cotton thread that lifts hair from the follicle, a few hairs at a time. Nothing warm and nothing adhesive touches the skin, which is why some clients prefer it when their skin is reactive or when they use retinoids and acids.
Brow shaping is the full shape appointment. Brow maintenance is the shorter visit between shapes, for cleaning up regrowth on a shape that is already set. If you would rather have the brows waxed or sugared, both are on the waxing and sugaring menus.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Come with a few weeks of growth so there is enough hair to shape, and skip makeup on the brows if you can. I map the shape with you first, then thread to that line.
The skin around the brow can look pink for an hour or two. Keep the area clean, skip heat and heavy sweat for the rest of the day, and rebook every two to four weeks for maintenance. Cancellation and reschedule terms are on the policies page.

IS THREADING RIGHT FOR YOUR BROWS
Threading suits you if your skin gets red or tender easily, if you use retinoids or exfoliating acids on your face, or if you simply like the idea of nothing warm or sticky near your eyes. It also lets me work very close to the line, a few hairs at a time, which helps when you want a clean shape without losing fullness.
Waxing or sugaring can suit you better if you also want your lip, chin or other areas done at the same visit, or if you prefer a quicker pass over a larger area. If you are unsure, book the service you are leaning toward and I can talk it through with you before I start.
How the mapping conversation goes
Before any thread touches your skin, I look at your natural brow, your brow bone and how your brows move when you talk. I ask how you fill them in, what you like about them and what bothers you. Then I show you where I plan to take hair away and where I plan to leave it, so nothing is a surprise.
If you have been tweezing at home
Try to put the tweezers down for a few weeks before your first visit. Even stray hairs that look messy give me more to work with when shaping. If there are sparse spots from past tweezing, tell me, and I can plan a shape that lets them grow in over the next few visits.
Growing brows out takes patience. Between appointments, brush them into place and fill gaps with pencil or powder rather than pulling hairs that seem out of line.
Your first visit
Let me know about any skin products you use near the brows, especially retinoids, acids or prescription creams, and anything that has made your skin react before. You lie back, I hold the skin gently taut, and you feel a quick series of small tugs. Most people find it easier than they expected, and I can pause whenever you need a moment.
