HOW WEDDING MAKEUP WORKS, START TO FINISH
Booking wedding makeup with Bridgette Goulet runs in six steps: you send the date, the date is confirmed in writing, you come to the studio in Lewiston for the bridal preview that is included in the $300 bridal price, you build the look together and it is photographed, the morning schedule is set from your ready by time, then on the day she arrives on location with her own lighting and leaves you a touch up kit. Travel is $100 per hour of round trip drive time.
THE SIX STEPS
1. Send your date
Send the wedding date, the town you are getting ready in, how many people need makeup and the time you must be ready. Bridgette replies within one business day with availability, the price for your group and the travel figure for your town.
2. Hold the date
A 50 percent deposit holds your date. Deposits are nonrefundable, with exceptions considered case by case. Party minimum of 3. Smaller groups are considered case by case, so ask. Everything is confirmed in writing before your date is held. Once the date is confirmed it is yours and no one else is taken for it.
3. Book the bridal preview
The preview is included in the $300 bridal price. Most brides come six to ten weeks before the wedding, at the studio in Lewiston. Bring clean skin, photos of looks you like and the lipstick you might want to carry.
4. Build the look together
During the preview you try the base, the eye and the lip, and change whatever is not right. It gets photographed and written down, so the wedding morning repeats a look you already approved instead of improvising.
5. Set the morning schedule
Working back from your ready by time, Bridgette allows about an hour for the bride and 30 to 45 minutes for each additional person, plus a buffer before photographs. She normally finishes the bride last so the freshest work goes straight into pictures.
6. Wedding morning
She arrives with her own lighting, because getting ready rooms rarely have honest light. Makeup is done in the agreed order, there is a final check before she leaves, and she hands over a small touch up kit with instructions so the reception is covered.

Long drives like Bar Harbor, Rangeley or Jackson are covered by the same $100 per hour round trip travel fee. When an overnight makes sense, I handle the accommodations and we settle it case by case at booking.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROCESS
