WHAT IS OFFERED
Waxing removes hair from the root with a warm resin wax, so the area stays smooth for longer than shaving. I wax brows, lip, chin, sideburns and full face, and body areas including underarms, arms, legs, chest, stomach, back, bikini and Brazilian.
Brow waxing is a shaping appointment, not just hair removal. If you want the brows shaped and darkened in one visit, brow shaping and tint is on the brow menu. Sugaring covers many of the same areas with a water soluble paste, and threading is available for brows.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Come with about a quarter of an inch of growth, roughly two weeks, and clean dry skin. Tell me before I start if you use retinoids or acids, are on any medication that thins the skin, or have had recent sun exposure on the area.
Afterwards the skin can look pink for a few hours. Keep the area clean, skip heat, heavy sweat and swimming for the first day, and hold off on exfoliating acids for a couple of days. Most clients rebook every three to four weeks.

PLANNING YOUR WAX
Waxing, sugaring or threading
All three are on my menu, and each has its place. Waxing is a good fit for most areas and most skin, and it covers larger areas quickly. Sugaring uses a paste that rinses away with water, and some clients with reactive skin prefer how it feels. Threading is for brows only and uses no warmth or product on the skin. If you cannot decide, tell me about your skin and what you want done, and I will help you choose.
Your first visit
I start with a short chat about your skin, products you use and anything that has irritated your skin before. I cleanse the area, apply warm wax to one small section at a time and remove it quickly, holding the skin to keep it comfortable. I tidy up any stray hairs, calm the skin and walk you through aftercare before you go.
Preparing and timing
Plan around about two weeks of growth. Try not to wax on skin that is sunburned or freshly tanned, so leave a few days between a beach day and your appointment. Book workouts before your wax rather than after, since heat and sweat are best skipped for the rest of that day. For an event, a wax a few days ahead gives any pinkness time to settle.
Aftercare and ingrown hairs
Keep the area clean and wear loose clothing for the first day. After a couple of days, gentle exfoliation a few times a week and a light moisturizer help the new hair come through the surface easily. Try not to pick at any bumps. If something looks irritated or does not settle, message me.
Before a vacation or wedding
If waxing is new to you, book a first appointment well ahead of the trip or the wedding so you know how your skin responds. Then plan your final wax a few days before you leave or before your event. If you are also booking makeup or a facial for a wedding, tell me so I can space everything sensibly.
