When Should You Start Facials Before Your Wedding?

When should you start facials before your wedding?
I like to start about six months before the wedding. That gives your skin several visits, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, and lets the last corrective facial land 4 to 6 weeks before the date. The final days are for something gentle only. My facials in Lewiston run from $60 to $150.
Skin is slow. That is why I like to see you in my studio at Tucci & Co Salon months ahead, and why a facial the week of the wedding cannot catch up on months of skipped care.
Clients have left me 60 five star reviews across Google, The Knot, WeddingWire and Facebook, and Google sits at 5.0 from 33 of them. You can read them on Google before your first visit.
When should I start facials before my wedding?
About six months out is a comfortable start. Skin does not need six months of treatments. The time is there to try things, see how your skin answers and stop well before the date.
The first visit is mostly looking and listening. I start with a short consultation about your routine, your products and what you want to change. Then I look closely at your skin under good light and talk you through what I see before any treatment begins.
Bring the names or photos of the products you use. It helps me avoid repeating steps that already irritate your skin, and it shows me what your routine already does well.
What does a six month facial plan look like?
Here is the plan I use. Your skin decides the details as you go.
- About six months out: a first full facial, usually The Basic Facial, and a home routine set together.
- 3 to 5 months out: treat what I found on a 4 to 6 week rhythm, with Hyper Glow for tone, Breakout Rescue for congestion or Microdermabrasion for texture.
- Two months out: keep going, no new experiments.
- 4 to 6 weeks out: your last corrective or resurfacing facial.
- The final days: something gentle, like an Express Facial for glow.
Each treatment is described on my facials menu. My guide to the best facial for your skin type helps if you are not sure where your skin fits.
If you are traveling in from elsewhere in Maine, I can compress the plan into fewer visits and lean harder on your home routine. Tell me when you book, and I plan the visits around your trips.

Why do facials need to be 4 to 6 weeks apart?
I recommend rebooking every 4 to 6 weeks, which follows the skin's natural renewal cycle. Each treatment needs time to do its work before the next one.
Squeezing three facials into the month before a wedding does not catch you up. It raises the odds of your skin doing something unplanned in a week with no room to wait it out. Deeper resurfacing can leave skin warm or pink at first, which is why it belongs well clear of the date. If you are choosing between two resurfacing options, my comparison of dermaplaning and microdermabrasion explains the difference.
How does my skin plan change my wedding makeup?
The skin plan decides how the makeup sits. Smooth, hydrated skin lets me use less product, and less product photographs better and lasts longer. Congested or flaking skin needs more coverage, and heavy coverage is what starts to slide in a warm room.
So the two plans talk to each other. At your bridal preview I look at where your skin actually is and build the wedding base for that. If your skin is reactive, I choose products differently and test them at the preview rather than on the day. If I have been working on your tone for months, I can go lighter, and you can see how the morning fits on my page about wedding makeup in Maine.
What should I stop doing in the last month?
Stop adding things. No new active products, because a retinol started three weeks out can show up at the worst time. No first time treatment of any kind in the final weeks. Everyone in your wedding booking gets 10 percent off my other services, including facials.
Do not stop your sunscreen, because sun in the weeks before the wedding can undo months of tone work. If you use retinoids, acids or strong exfoliants, tell me when you book, because I may ask you to pause them before a facial. Share any allergies, sensitivities, pregnancy or skin conditions too, so the treatment can be adjusted. My bridal beauty timeline shows where brows and lashes fit around all this.
What if my skin breaks out the week of the wedding?
It happens, and the answer is almost never a new treatment. In the final week I would rather calm skin than work on it. Keep your routine simple, do not pick, and message me so I can plan the base around it.
A single spot is easy to cover well. Skin that has been over treated in a panic is not. That is the practical case for starting early: when the work is done months ahead, the last two weeks are quiet by design.
When your wedding is about six months away, book your first facial online and tell me the date, so I can plan the rest backwards from it. Studio appointments run Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.
Questions, answered
How much is a facial?
My facials run from $60 for a 30 minute Express Facial to $150 for corrective treatments. The Basic Facial, a good first visit, is $100.
How close to the wedding can I have a facial?
Keep the final days for something gentle, like an Express Facial for glow. Corrective and resurfacing treatments belong 4 to 6 weeks out.
Is a facial necessary for a bride?
No. Facials are worth it if you want to change something, or if your skin is unpredictable and you want it settled before a day you cannot move.
Which facial helps with dark spots before a wedding?
The Hyper Glow Facial combines enzyme exfoliation with galvanic technology to target hyperpigmentation, sun damage and melasma. Start it early in the plan.
Should I book a back facial for an open back dress?
Yes, if your back has congestion or breakouts. The Back Treatment is a deep cleansing back facial for congestion and breakouts, and it is $150 for an hour.
Do bridal party members get a discount on facials?
Yes. Everyone in your wedding booking gets 10 percent off my other services, including facials.
